What We Do Not Take On
We don't do new-construction framing or rough openings. If a builder needs a garage door opening framed and sized before the door goes in, that's carpentry work, not door work, and we'll tell you so on the phone before you book a slot.
We also won't sell you a full replacement when a repair will hold. A worn roller or a single broken cable on an otherwise sound door doesn't need a new door around it, and if that's what we find, that's what we'll say, even if the bigger job pays more.
On the parts side, some older sectional doors from the earlier end of the 1962-2001 build range use panel sizes or track profiles that aren't made anymore. When that happens, we're honest that a matching replacement panel may take longer to source than the rest of the job, and sometimes the practical answer is replacing the whole door rather than waiting on a part that may not show up. That's not a sales pitch, it's what the part supply actually looks like right now.
We don't take on jobs outside the towns we actually drive to. If you're well past the towns on our route, we'd rather tell you that up front than take the call and show up late.
Who Turns Up
A truck comes to the address you gave us, working the route between Madison and the towns nearby, whether that's a short run to Middleton or the longer haul out toward Verona or Stoughton. Whoever gets sent to your door looks at the actual spring, track, or opener in front of them before touching anything, and walks you through what's broken and what it'll cost to fix before starting.
Given how much of the housing stock here dates to the 1980s and 90s, a lot of what we see is original torsion hardware nearing the end of its cycle, or an opener from that era finally giving out. That's not a guess about your specific door, it's just the pattern across the area, and it shapes what we bring on the truck for a typical call.
